"I would thoroughly recommend Colin if you are looking for a hugely experienced builder and craftsman and don’t have a limited budget. Colin renovated my old smithy into a fine, fully insulated and beautiful building; he also designed and built a garden room onto my kitchen which is absolutely stunning. He makes all the windows, doors and beams himself and the quality of his work is outstanding as is that of his team. Much care and effort went into the build, as well as expertise, and visitors are always impressed by the craftsmanship and quality. Colin and his team were also extremely punctual, reliable and tidy throughout the duration of the work, and did not take days off to work elsewhere as is common with other builders. "Colin and his team removed a dilapidated porch and replaced it with a brilliant extension, which has given the property so much more useable space. It has also improved the appearance of the front elevation. We also took the opportunity to upgrade the heating system, and provided a ‘plant room’ housing boiler and pressurised tank. "We have a cottage built c1750 which required sympathetic extending and modernising of the services. Colin was able to assist in the design as well as build throughout the project. He came up with several useful ideas on the project and was able to hand make several bespoke Oak pieces in keeping with the cottages age and style.
The modernisation of the electrics and heating was also done in an unobtrusive manner, without affecting the character of the property. His team were all a pleasure to deal with in difficult Covid times.
He also dealt with the landscaping around the property in a sympathetic manner.
We would very much recommend him and his team for any building works, and more particularly regarding older / listed properties."
